Usually brands pay for celebrities to endorse their products, whether it be a full blown commercial or a passive plug in a song. Not the case for the train wreck that is Britney Spears. Louis Vuitton is suing Spears for $117,600 for using the company’s logo in the video “Do Something.” Vuitton has also had the video pulled from television stations across Europe.
The interesting thing is that the video first appeared in 2005. If the lawsuit is successful, it would set a precedent for brands to go back and sue their unauthorized celebrity endorsers that they no longer want to be associated with.
